Makinde urged by Sowore to unmask the illegal miners behind the Ibadan explosion.

The explosion that occurred in Ibadan has raised several questions that need to be addressed by Governor Seyi Makinde and the security agencies. Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, has called for answers regarding the alleged illegal miners responsible for the blast. While Governor Makinde stated that the explosion was caused by illegal miners, Sowore expressed his curiosity about who these miners are, what they were mining, and why they possessed such powerful explosives. He also questioned whether there was any explosives dealer known to the security agencies in a high-end neighborhood in Ibadan that the government had been aware of but failed to take action against. Sowore emphasized the need for a thorough investigation before making conclusive statements about the incident, as well as the immediate release of information regarding the identity of the miner involved. Additionally, he highlighted the fact that mining and using explosives typically require a specific procedure and a trigger, raising concerns about whether the building was rigged with explosives and, if so, why. These questions demand answers to ensure transparency and accountability in the aftermath of the explosion.
