2Face is easily one of the Greatest musicians in Africa ever. Though, there’s like a decade difference between them, Olamide is one of the greats too.
When it comes to hits, these guys have been delivering for many many years — and they haven’t stopped.
It’s a fact you cannot list the five artists with the most hits in the Nigerian music industry and not add both 2face and Olamide. Monumental.
2Face
2Face — or 2Baba, as he’s referred to as now — has been dropping hits since the early 2000s, when some of the artists that are hot now were not even born yet.
He started off as a member of the Plantashun Boyz trio alongside Faze and Blackface. After making a number of hits in the group, he started his solo career, releasing his debut “Face 2 Face” in 2004.
He did a number of albums while signed to Kennis Music including his highly regarded classic, “Grass 2 Grace,” released in 2006.
Since then, he’s done other albums and countless hits. His last studio album, “Warriors” came last year and he even had a hit, “Opo” with WizKid. A decade and half later, and the man is still making hits!
Olamide
Everything there is to be said about Olamide has been said, really. The man is a legend.
The singer-rapper emerged on the scene in the early 2010s with his Rapsodi album, which had hits like “Eni Duro” and “Omo To Shan” with WizKid.
The next year, he left his label and started his own imprint, YBNL, also releasing his second album.
Then, for seven years straight, Olamide dropped at least one studio album per year, making numerous hits along the way.
His last release, “UY Scuti” came weeks ago. “Rock,” from the LP, is one of his best songs ever.
